Junglis Monk - South Coast G funk

DJ Junglimonk was not born so much as dropped—reportedly via a bass drop so heavy it caused three nearby pigeons to reconsider their life choices. Raised somewhere between a second-hand record shop and a Wi-Fi router that only worked if you stood on one leg, Junglimonk grew up fluent in three languages: sarcasm, side-eye, and 160 BPM.

As a child, he showed early signs of musical genius. While other kids were learning recorder, Junglimonk was remixing the school bell into a lo-fi jungle loop and selling it back to the headteacher as an “immersive auditory experience.” His first gig came at age 12 when he DJ’d a cousin’s birthday party and accidentally created a four-hour set because he didn’t know how to stop the software. Critics later described it as “ahead of its time” and “please let us go home.”

The name “Junglimonk” came to him during a deeply spiritual moment involving instant noodles and a broken aux cable. “Jungle” for the chaotic beats. “Monk” for the inner peace required when your laptop crashes mid-set and you have to pretend it’s part of the vibe.

His rise to fame was meteoric, confusing, and occasionally delayed by software updates. Known for blending genres that absolutely should not go together—like Gregorian chants and drum & bass—Junglimonk carved out a niche described by fans as “transcendent” and by others as “is this allowed?”

On stage, he is a force of nature: part mystic, part chaos goblin, part guy frantically clicking things while nodding convincingly. His signature move involves pressing one button very dramatically and then pretending it did everything.

Despite his success, Junglimonk remains humble. He still uses the same cracked headphones he found in a bus station, claiming they “add character” and “only slightly electrocute him.” Offstage, he enjoys meditating, collecting obscure vinyl, and explaining to confused relatives that yes, this is a real job.

Today, DJ Junglimonk continues to tour the world, spreading beats, enlightenment, and mild confusion wherever he goes.
